About the event
Ride with Pride was started in memory of Lori Neville, after she was killed by a distracted driver, well biking in August of 2020. Ride with Pride is a not-for-profit organization that focuses on bike/road safety for all ages.
ATTRACTIONS:
New Hope Community Bikes will be joining us this year. They run a cycling education program called “Ride Smart”. The Ride Smart Program has been designed to be completely self-contained: they provide the bikes, helmets, instructors, resource materials and even the obstacles needed to set up different scenarios. The OPP have volunteers that help with their program.
Families are still encouraged to bring their own bikes, as the trained instructors will be able to help make suggestions to parents. For example if the child’s bike is not the right size, helmet doesn’t fit correctly, missing safety equipment, etc..

This year we will be handing out bag again. Last year they were a huge hit and everyone seemed to think the items inside were great. We handed out 130 of the 150 bags. Since then, the remaining bags have been given to cyclist within in Lambton County, who were spotted not using proper safety equipment. The bags included information handouts, a bike light, a mini first aid kit, a water bottle, mini flashlights, etc.. My goal for 2023 is to hand out 200 bags at the event! The first 200 kids to complete the New Hope Community Bikes safety course, will receive a bag.
Bike Draw
This year, with the help from our donors we will have 2 (possibly 3) bike draws. Each draw will be geared to different age categories. To receive a ballot, each participant must complete the Ride Smart Program.
